Bionic, makers of the world's most technologically-advanced golf gloves, have launched an exciting new model for 2010 - the Bionic Performance Series.

Three years in the making, the Bionic Performance Series promises to transform UK golfers' perceptions of their glove as a humble accessory and establish it firmly as a genuine game improvement product.

Billed as the most sophisticated golf glove ever designed and building on patented technology pioneered by a leading orthopedic hand specialist, the Bionic Performance Series boasts 44 unique anatomical features to give golfers the ultimate grip, feel and performance from a golf glove.

One of the key features is the exclusive Triple Row Finger Grip System. Each finger has three multi-layered zones on the palm side made of terrycloth and leather.

These raised areas absorb moisture - so they're like having 15 mini-towels constantly soaking up - and they help the glove conform to the natural shape of the hand for a more comfortable and relaxed grip.

Another primary feature is the Elongated Surround Flexion Zones, where the natural creases occur in the finger and palm. The Performance Series removes leather in these key zones and replaces it with Lycra, which stretches, retracts and breathes.

The flexion zone wraps 180 degrees around the finger to minimize bunching of leather, which occurs when the hand is flexed inward to hold a golf club - delivering enhanced comfort and feel, greater flexibility and a cool, dry hand. And the glove's mid-axis longitudinal seam placement (running the length of the fingers) is another unique characteristic.

On a standard glove the seam creates resistance when closing the hand, but on the Performance Series the seam has been moved so it no longer impedes glove closure when gripping the club. This helps fight hand fatigue. All this technology combines to promote a lighter grip, which encourages a smoother swing and full release of the golf club head and leads to better contact and straighter ball flight.

It took more than three years of design and testing to get the Bionic Performance glove ready for market and it's endorsed by Major winner, Paul Azinger, who says: "Bionic is unique and is bringing technology to glove design that we've never seen before. It's so flexible and breathable that you don't even think about it." Azinger is so confident in the Bionic gloves that he is the only PGA Tour professional with a glove-only endorsement contract.

All Bionic golf gloves feature unique triple technology as standard. The Anatomical Relief Pad System strategically places small pads on the glove which improve grip strength without the need to grip harder.

The Pre-Rotated Finger Design follows the natural inward turning motion of your fingers when gripping, giving the glove a 'second skin' feel. And stretchable and breathable Motion Zones are added over the knuckles and Web Zones are added between the fingers to provide greater flexibility and natural dexterity, while also helping keep hands cool and dry. The gloves are distributed in the UK by Stockport-based GM Golf Brands and are available through Pro shops.

Mark Richardson of GM Golf Brands, says: “We're delighted to be bringing this advanced golf glove technology to the UK. Bionic golf gloves have proven to be incredibly popular and this will continue with the launch of the Performance Series.”
