Such programmes start by negotiating cooperation agreements with selected agricultural enterprises with the aim of minimising their risks from conversion to organic cotton production. In addition, C&A sponsors a range of training programmes. These include further education for farmers, to help them understand how, for example, crop rotation can lead to increased economic security. C&A also organises educational events for cotton-spinning enterprises, traders, and suppliers on topics such as product integrity, textile processing, certification, labelling, and the environmentally-friendly use of water and energy. Last, but by no means least, C&A also invests in social projects, including supporting access to education for children in rural populations.
