During the last week, a conference on Tunisian textile-apparel sector's potentials was held in Amsterdam's World Fashion Centre, in joint- venture with Dutch fashion association, Modint.

This conference was a part of the awareness campaign, 'Looking for Growth? Think Tunisia', which is being carried out on Tunisia's industrial strategy till 2016.

It is aimed at introducing Dutch industrialists to the Tunisian industrial site and the various opportunities on the platter, mainly in the textile-apparel sector, for promoting the on-coming 'Texmed' expo, due in June 2011.

Three Dutch apparel producers, Marathon, Dentri Knit's and Vilenzo/Waalwear group, established in Tunisia, gave out lectures on Tunisian industrial site's attractiveness with due evidence.

Also part of this conference was the business-to-business contacts that were developed between the attending Tunisian firm owners and Dutch industrialists and businessmen, who were keen on investing in Tunisia.

In addition, an extra unit for producing apparels will soon be set up by the Marathon group in Kasserine, as announced by members of the group.
