The Dyestuffs Manufacturers Association of India (DMAI) has submitted a proposal to the government to set up a 'Centre of Excellence' in or around Mumbai.
The primary objective behind setting up the centre is to conduct research and development activities and provide training in dyestuff manufacturing.
Speaking exclusively with fibre2fashion, Mr Ram Ajekar, President, Dyestuffs Manufacturers Association of India (DMAI) said, "We have submitted the proposal to the government and we are awaiting their response for funding the centre.
“The objective is to help the dyestuff industry in testing various substances and to develop and improve products and to reduce pollution by developing new processes and the main objective is to take personal training in dyestuff manufacturing."
