Hästens appoints Nick Braden as New Global President

Hästens, the worlds leading luxury bed maker, announced that Nick Braden has been appointed Global President of Hästens worldwide.
“Hästens is an iconic brand in Europe, with great potential to grow around the world,” said Jan Ryde, fifth generation owner and CEO of Hästens. “I believe that the company and our products deserve the best possible leadership and it is my responsibility to provide the very best knowledge and skills available to ensure Hästens success. Nick Braden brings a breadth of brand development and operational skills that will be invaluable to Hästens as it focuses on growing its sales and profitability worldwide.”
Mr. Braden said, “Hästens has the opportunity to change a global industry – the luxury bed business. Few businesses start with the strength of product and attractive partner economics that the Hästens team has already built. At the same time, not many businesses genuinely have the opportunity to make a mark on a global sector. I feel privileged to join the legacy of Hästens and to be a part of these next steps.”
In his role at Hästens, Mr. Braden will look for strategic opportunities for Hästens on a global level and oversee the centralized functions supporting the companies worldwide operations as it continue to grow. Jan Ryde, the fifth generation owner, has been the CEO of the company since 1988, growing the business more than 40,000 percent. Mr. Ryde will remain in the leadership position of the family business. “I have been doing this for more than 20 years and I am looking forward to refocusing my energies towards strengthening Hästens strategic direction and moving away from the management role,” said Ryde.
Nick Braden's Background:
Mr. Braden is originally from the UK and will be based in Washington DC. He is a driven leader with an extensive track record of success in international retail business. Prior to joining Hästens, Mr. Braden served as General Manager of Mars Drinks, overseeing all of the operations of the company. In addition, he worked as a business consultant with McKinsey & Company in Europe, Managing Director of L'Occitane, and Vice President of Staples.
Mr. Braden holds an MBA from INSEAD, Fontainbeleau, France, an MA from Harvard University and a MA Hons, from Oxford University. He is married and has two children.
