Paraxylene prices remained firm at US $920/ton in absence of Chinese market. Price of PX was around $920-923/ton, but deals were concluded below $920/ton level.
PTA prices went down marginally in tandem with the upstream, but speculators expected that once the Chinese markets reopen a short term bullish rally is expected.
In S E Asian market offer price of PTA was in the range of $840-845/ton, while trading price was in the range of $835-840/ton.
Ethylene prices remained stable at $905/ton in S E Asian market. In F E Asian markets price assessed in the range of $925-930/ton. Market experts believed that Ethylene prices in Asia are expected to decline on account of ample availability.
MEG price consolidated at the current level of $717/ton in the S E Asian market. According to experts, as soon as the Chinese holidays get over, price will easily cross the level of $725/ton if firm demands continue.
