Textile Conservation Centre opens in New Delhi

The Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) opened its first textile conservation centre in New Delhi.

INTACH is India's largest non-profit membership organization dedicated to conservation and preservation of India's natural, cultural, living, tangible and intangible heritage.

The objective of the centre called the Specialized Textile Conservation Unit (STCU) is to preserve the rich heritage of India's textiles and its lost traditions.

According to L K Gupta, Chairman of INTACH, who inaugurated the centre, STUC will help in research, documentation, conservation and development of the lost traditions.
