Ning Bo Heyuan to use Lummus Technology at DMTO unit

Chicago Bridge & Iron Company N.V. (CB&I) announced that Ning Bo Heyuan Chemical Company Ltd. has awarded Lummus Technology, a CB&I company, a contract for the license and basic engineering of a DMTO methanol-to-olefins recovery unit, and an Olefins Conversion Technology (OCT) unit in Ning Bo, China.
The DMTO unit will produce 600,000 metric tonnes per annum (MTA) of ethylene and propylene, as well as some lower value n-butylenes. All of the n-butylenes and some of the recovered ethylene from the DMTO will be used in the OCT unit to produce 90,000 MTA of propylene. Olefins (ethylene and propylene) are used as intermediates in the petrochemical industry to produce a variety of products, including plastics, fibers and rubber.
