Transactions in nylon filament shrink

Jun '10
In the just concluded week, nylon yarn market in Shengze and Jiaxing markets showed a downward posture, as upstream raw materials continued to decline, offers of domestic CPL dropped below 20,000 / ton, nylon 6 chip filament (conventional spinning) also fell to 22800-23000 Yuan / ton. Overall transaction of nylon filament shrank.

From trends of Shengze and Jiaxing markets, offers of nylon -6FDY70D/24F, 100D/36F, 140D/48F fell in the week, of which, domestic made nylon -6FDY70D/24F was quoted at about 27,000 Yuan / ton, liquidity in Shengze market has not been large in recent time. Demand of full dull nylon FDY yarn 40D, 70D slightly increased in the week, but prices declined.

Semi-dull nylon monofilament was stable in volume and price, of which, 20D, 30D/1F semi-dull nylon monofilament still have demand from downstream sector, as the products are used in production of wedding hood fabrics.

Market transactions of nylon yarn were extremely light, becoming a market having quotations but no sales. Bright nylon filament market rebounded, as the product is mainly used in production of decorative fabrics.

Nylon-66DTY had little market demand, upstream raw materials fell, filament price also declined. Dull and semi-dull 160D Nylon 6-ATY had stable demand in downstream sector, mainly due to increased output of Taslon, so price decline was relatively small.

From downstream fabric market, overall transaction of nylon filament woven fabrics was less than polyester fabrics. For example, prices of conventional nylon taffeta 190T, 210T were still at 3.25 Yuan / ton and 3.70 Yuan / ton, but prices of actual transactions were flexible, therefore, prices of nylon fabrics are expected to drop slightly, trade volume of nylon yarn is difficult to enlarge, price movement is likely to show a slight downward trend.
