Ivanna IFT signs MOU with GITCKT

Ivanna Institute of Fashion Technology, a PTU learning centre for Fashion studies signed a “Memorandum of Understanding” with Government Institute of Textile Chemistry and Knitting technology, on 28th June 2010. The MOU was signed by Dr N S Bhullar Principal GITCKT and Manmeet Sodhia, Director Ivanna IFT.

In the MOU, both the parties agreed to exchange information and data on training and skill requirements of their students, and relationship to emerging needs of the textile, knitting and garment industry. Both the institutes will work to make education more relevant to the changing technological needs including design, development, implementation and review of the curriculum and resource material. To improve the quality of training, there would also be an exchange of faculty between the two institutes.

Ivanna IFT and GITCKT will jointly organize workshops and seminars in the field of technical education and industrial training to promote innovation and optimization of resources. Guest lectures will be arranged between the two institutes to rodent understanding. Arrangements will be made for the visits of staff and students to industrial units.

“The mission of Ivanna IFT is to be at the forefront of learning, creativity and practice in art and design. The institute implements rigorous quality assurance procedures to maintain the high standards already set in, and also try to improve its courses, wherever possible. This tie up with GITCKT will surely help us to achieve our mission”, said Manmeet Sodhia.
