At its modern facility in Sitra, Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) declared that, till date it has given an output of 10 million tons of methanol.

As per company's General Manager, Abdul Rahman Jawahery, the output of 10 million tons of methanol has been attained over a period of 25 years.

Therefore, it is an important milestone, pointing at the plant's silver jubilee. More so, it has come at a point, when the company's Managing Director, Anwar Saeed bin Salama visited Bahrain.

Efforts put in to the success of GPIC by its shareholders, Chairman and board members and their on going support to the firm are the reasons behind achieving this target, informed Jawahery.

Further more, Jawahery added that, the newly acquired success of GPIC is closely associated to the kind of people, responsible for each task. Therefore, training and development of Bahraini employees will continue to remain the key focus area of GPIC.

Recently, post the launch of carbon dioxide recovery plant, GPIC was in a position to boost the production capacity of methanol plant till 1,220 tons per day, informed Jawahery.

In addition, although GPIC too suffered owing to the global economic downturn, the firm has worked efficiently towards opting for standardised measures of performance to help face financial instability, without compromising on safety or security, averred Jawahery.

He concluded by saying that, the firm will continue training young leaders, who in turn, will take the best possible advantage of the offer on hand and contribute largely for its success.
