Sluggish mill demand characterized the reporting period compared with the week before. However, there was still interest for prompt respectively at short notice deliverable cotton.

It appears that after all smaller quantities of cotton come to light which could be delivered from the origins still before the new crop. Also in the fine / extra fine range lots have been sold for prompt delivery.

In the medium staple range were traded: West African types for prompt, for the end of the 3rd quarter 2010 and for the 1st quarter 2011; Central Asian cotton for the 3rd quarter 2010 and Spanish for the 4th quarter 2010.

In the “medium to long” range was US Ultima traded for shipment in the 4th quarter 2010.

From among the fine / extra fine varieties contracts were concluded in Egyptian GIZA 86 for prompt and US Pima for the 2nd quarter 2011.
