The Spanish industry's Industrial Price Index (PPI) for the month of June this year has gone up by around 3.2 percent as over June 2009. However, the surge in textile sector figures was more moderate as the data taken in May revealed that, it grew by just 0.5 percent.
Also, the industrial price inflation in the leather and footwear sectors was bit more with its prices recording a yearly rise of 0.7 percent in June, but quite contrary to the same, the production cost came down by 0.2 percent, as against the same period last year.
However, the moderation in price rise in textile sector is mainly elaborated to be 0.7 percent of the annual decline in the overall production of other textiles. But divergently, the prices boosted other activities of the industry, like textile fishing grew by 1 percent, textile spinning by 1.5 percent and textile fabric production by 2.1 percent.
For manufacturing industry, prices dropped by 0.4 percent for apparel excluding fur, whereas there was an increase of 1.1 percent in the prices of knitted apparel attires. For leather and footwear sector, there was an increase of 0.8 percent in the cost of manufacturing footwear and the price for preparing, tanning and dressing leather; manufacture of luggage, handbags and saddler and harness, a process of preparing and dyeing fur too rose by 0.1 percent.
