Littlefield retains country's rarest denim mill position

There are no more then five mills that now exist in United States and of these five too, just one parks itself in the hub of the Littlefield cotton fields.
Essentially, American Cotton Growers were the sole manufacturers of denim, positioned in this part of Mississippi. This sole manufacturer procures raw inputs and then spins it into yarn to churn out around 100,000 yards of denim, each day.
Around $60 million, each year goes to the West Texas economy from the mill as also its employee strength constitutes 71 percent of those who belong to Littlefield.
Natalia Moore, Director of Human Resources while highlighting the salient features of the mill said that, uniqueness of the mill is that it comprises of over 25,000 cotton farmers, and the cotton that they consume mostly comes from West Texas, the one that is cultivated in 55 mile radius of the mill. The denim mill sources over 40 jean designers including Levi's, Gap and Rock and Republic.
