Socks producers need to invest in advanced equipments

It is estimated that domestic demand for cotton socks is about 1.8 billion pairs annually and the annual growth rate is around 8-10 percent. The global annual demand is also increasing by around 3-4 percent.
However, the market share of technologically advanced socks making equipment is less than 30 percent in domestic market. Except for a few socks manufacturers who have relatively advanced technology and equipment, other companies still use relatively backward equipment.
With new development of functional socks products using new materials, socks manufacturers have also invested in computer-aided design system. This has led to equipment manufacturers to pay more attention to research and development of high efficient socks machines.
China's knitting machine industry has seven broad categories, which include circular knitting machine, flat knitting machine, socks machine, glove machine, warp knitting machine, crochet machine and knitting machine.
Authoritative statistical data indicate that in knitting machine industry, China's position of high-end textile machinery in international market and market share in domestic market are less than foreign countries.
Socks and socks machine have already gone beyond the areas of traditional consumer goods and knitting technology. Industry research has led to development of new products, taking advantage of new fiber materials, computer control, bio medical engineering and other advanced science and technology.
