Latest finding of cancer-causing textile dyes in apparels manufactured by few of the popular Chinese brands has set off warning bells in the nation.

Authorities on testing few types of apparel found the presence of cancer-causing toxic dyes. This has spread a wave of concern that, few buyers might be exposed to health dangers.

Last week, the Municipal bureau of Industry and Commerce revealed its quality test results, thereby declaring 65 batches of apparels, including a few local brands, Jeanswest and Baoxinlai, failing to meet the quality standards.

Baoxinlai Garment Company from Beijing manufactured two styles of coats and in both was found decomposable aromatic amine, a cancer-causing textile dye.

This fatal dye can be easily absorbed by the human skin, which can then lead to cancer over long-term exposure, revealed the results. The apparels produced by the firm are sold in supermarkets and shopping malls both in the country and in foreign nations. The firm when approached refused to give their comments on the test reports.
