The largest polyester producer in India has kept prices of products in the polyester value chain, which include POY, PSF and PET, unchanged from the previous month.
According to experts, the main reason for prices staying unchanged could be that the market may not accept any hikes in current times, although a price increase was expected in polyester products.
Currently, the demand from domestic as well as export markets for polyester-viscose, polyester-cotton and textured yarn is quite positive and is expected to be the same in the next few months.
Producers are generating good margins in the export markets, although they are also quite good in domestic markets if not better than in export markets.
PET has witnessed a 38 percent jump in demand, mainly from the bottled water and beverages segment, due to the summer season. Demand for polymer products is projected to stay steady during July-August quarter.
