According to a report, it is estimated that around 800 million pairs of jeans are sold across in worldwide markets per year and when considering all garments that are produced using denim fabric, the total market potential of these denim products add up to around US $50 billion.
Brazil is a major producer of denim in the world and manufactures an estimated 25 million meters per month. Vicunha, Tavex/Santista, Cedro, Canatiba and Santana Têxtil are amongst the 20 main Brazilian producers of denim, who weave around 300 million meters per annum.
The Brazilian jeans wear market is around $8 billion and around 50 million meters of denim is exported per annum. Investment in research and development has played a crucial role in growth of the denim sector and the companies offer a wide choice in the mix of denim products.
