First international trend zone unveil at Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles 2010

Special zones to stimulate design senses
With ten exhibition halls and over 950 home textile suppliers exhibiting from 24 countries and regions, Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles is the ideal destination to hold the first international home textiles and interior trend zone. The debut forum will be located in Hall W2 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre from 24 – 26 August, 2010.

World-class trend forecasters from Italy, Ms Ornella Bignami of Elementi Moda, and Mr Kai Chow of Doneger Creative Services, from the US, will direct the trend zone, providing attendees new inspirations for their 2011/2012 collections with exhibitors' fabrics and home products in four themes:

• Positivity - An elegant urban ambiance, progressive and versatile where memories live with artistic choices.
• Serenity - Time slows down. A natural authentic mix with a feminine emotional touch.
• Pleasure - It is time for resetting our values, liberating emotions and fantasy.
• Personality - Stimulate creativity and uniqueness in a bohemian manner.

Additionally, in-depth seminars about 2010 – 2011 home décor and textile trends will be led by international trend forecasters including:

• Ornella Bignami from Elementi Moda, Italy, presenting: Interior Trends 2011-2012
• Nelly Rodi from NellyRodi Agency, France, presenting: Décor & Atmosphere 2011 Spring Summer Trends
• Kai Chow from Doneger Creative Services, US, presenting: 2011 Home Textile Concept and Trends
• Dr Valerie Wilson Trower from Stylesight, Hong Kong, presenting: A/W 2011 Interior and Home Textiles

Special zones to stimulate design senses
Show participants will find an extensive range of home textile design concepts at the Designer's Studio in Hall W1. This special area will gather 23 home fashion designers from France, Italy, Japan, Korea and UK to present the best designs, prints and patterns at their country.

“China is a very important market and the show is the ideal platform for us to tap into this region. We will showcase a wide-selection of designs made from velvet, silk and other luxurious materials. By exhibiting, we hope to build more connections with Chinese buyers, especially as European design styles are becoming more popular among the Chinese consumers,” said Mr. Michele Alois from Antonio alois & Figli - Compagnia Creativa, one of the exhibitors in the Designer's Studio from Italy.

Visitors can also gain inspirations from traditional Chinese, European and Southeast Asian textile weaving patterns and techniques at the Cultural Heritage Zone located in Hall E5, demonstrating the synergy effects of eastern and western traditional textile cultures.
