PX prices spurt, ethylene spot trends steady

Paraxylene price spurted up by US $15 / ton in Asian markets. In Korean market, PX was offered at $940 / ton and traded around $935 / ton. In Taiwanese spot market, PX prices stood at $950-955/ton.
In the Asian market, PTA was offered at $890 / ton, the mainstream discussion was in the range of $880-885 / ton. Korean PTA was quoted in the range of $865-870 / ton; however, trading price was well above $865 / ton.
Asian ethylene spot prices remained more or less the same. In N E Asia, offers hovered around $900 / ton but realized around $870 / ton only. In the S E Asian market, price of ethylene was in the range of $860-865 / ton. In the Chinese domestic market, price was in the range of RMB 8650-8850 / ton. In the US market, price was around 35.5 cents / pound.
MEG prices for imported cargoes were discussed around $780 / ton, whereas deals were concluded in the range of $770-775 / ton. Chinese spot glycol market was stable and price was discussed in the range of RMB 6400-6450 / ton.
Price of Bright and Semi dull PET Chips was unchanged. BGPET Chip price maintained a stable trend.
