Parameters of chemical fiber sector very good

China's chemical fiber production completed 14.47 million tons from January to June, up 13.43 percent year on year and the industry realized a total profit of 8.066 billion Yuan from January to May this year, up 200%, year on year.

Total chemical fiber imports stood at 365,900 tons from January to May, an increase of 10.87 percent year on year. Exports of the same reached 792,000 tons from January to May, up 50.21 percent year on year.

Of total chemical fiber output, polyester production touched 11.60 million tons, an increase of 13.31 percent year on year; viscose fiber output was 953,800 tons, up 13.29 percent year on year and spandex realized the fastest growth of 40.56 percent.

Imports of petrochemicals reached 6.67 million tons from January to May, up by 11.62 percent year on year, of which imports of ethylene glycol and terephthalic acid registered 2.85 million tons and 2.72 million tons, respectively, up 18.92 percent and 4.93 percent year on year, respectively.

Caprolactam imports increased by 21.25 percent. China's chemical fiber industry will enter a new upward cycle in 2010, judging from the perspective of the periodic law of chemical fiber industry.

According to experts, in 2010, yield is expected to show steady growth and output is expected to reach 29.8 million tons, an increase of 10 percent and imports will display a small increase and touch 900,000 tons, up 5 percent.

Exports are expected to register a significant increase and may touch nearly two million tons, up about 35 percent and total profits from the sector are expected to reach 12-13.5 billion Yuan. Operation quality will continue to improve.
