Besides the upgrading of factories already in operation in the Northeast, the company prepares for 2011 the start of a project to expand production capacity in the country, with works for the new plant in Mato Grosso.
According to Ricardo Steinbruch, president of Vicunha Têxtil, internationally, with the operation of LA International subsidiary in Ecuador, the company aims to be the leader in the market consolidation of Latin America, aimed at exports to the signatory countries of the Andean Pact, Mexico, and consequently, the United States through NAFTA and Europe. In addition to the production in Ecuador, the company also operates in Argentina with a commercial office and analyzes the local market for possible purchases in the future.
"We were able to reach very positive results this year, after a complete restructuring in the organization. In addition to our internal strategies, we must be attentive to the movement of the market, which faces challenges today that threaten the entire textile chain: increasing imports of Asian products, excessive increase in the trading value of the cotton, and depreciation of the dollar, "concludes D'Isep.
