PX & ethylene prices dip

Paraxylene declined due to weak upstream markets. In S E Asian market, PX price fell to US $980-985 / ton. PX imported from Korean markets was quoted around $970 / ton.
PTA was unchanged from the previous days closing in S E Asian markets and stood in the range of $900-905 / ton. Speculators still adopted stance of wait and watch, due to dull market atmosphere. Trading concluded in the range of $895-900 / ton.
Ethylene price declined marginally today and was assessed in the range of $975-980 / ton. In European market, price of ethylene was stable at $1010-1020 / ton and in US market; price was assessed around 31-32.7 cents / pound.
In MEG market, activities were moderate. MEG offers sustained in the range of $795-800 / ton in the S E Asian market. Counter offers for MEG stood at $795 / ton but sellers were firm for offers above $805 / ton. Speculators preferred to stay away from any fresh buying.
Recently, MEGlobal announced its October Asian contract price at $910 / ton and ACP of SABIC is $900 / ton.
