Cotton prices may surge further – experts

Seed cotton has gradually started arriving into the market and quantities as well as offer prices are increasing with each passing day. The highest landed factory price till date is 4.5 Yuan / kg. Purchase price of cotton grade 3 and 4 is between 3.9-4.1 Yuan / kg.
China Cotton Index (CC Index 328) stood at 18,598 Yuan / ton on, up 179 Yuan per ton from the previous day. Landed mill price of cotton grade 428 was 18,159 Yuan / ton, up 136 Yuan.
US cotton index may test the psychological barrier of 100 cents in the coming days. In China, experts have warned of an even more increase in prices and advised cotton textile mills to sign forward contracts, to save paying a higher price in the future.
