Yanbu National Petrochemical Company (Yansab) informed that, the company was required to close down its cracker in Saudi Arabia's Yanbu on September 10, due to some technical problems.

The cracker operates with a production capacity of 1.3 million tons per year.

The company also divulged that, the cracker would restart its normal operations within 15 days time. Further that, the closure would have no effect on the supply orders of the buyers and those would be supplied in time.

Yansab, is a joint venture company with Saudi Basic Industries Corp (SABIC), a leading petrochemical company holding 51 percent share.

Yansab also has downstream production facilities to produce ethylene oxide, ethylene glycol, polyethylene, polypropylene and aromatics plants in its complex.
