Kopenhagen Fur supports Contest Stars of the Kremlin - FUR

As in 2009, the fur auction house Kopenhagen Fur is supporting the competition for the next generation of talent - "Stars of the Kremlin – FUR“. The competition will be held for the second time at MEXA MOSCOW, Russia's most important international fur trade fair, and offers young design talents the opportunity to present first creations to an international public.

Kopenhagen Fur supports the Contest „Stars of the Kremlin – FUR“ For the second time now, Kopenhagen Fur is supporting the contest "Stars of the Kremlin – FUR“ as the Contest Sponsor, as promoting up-and-coming talents is a matter to which the company attaches high importance.

As the Contest Sponsor, Kopenhagen Fur is providing the first prize for the competition: a one-week workshop introducing the work of the Kopenhagen Studio, the creative workshop of Kopenhagen Fur. As in 2009, Michael Holm, the Head of Marketing, will also be a jury member.

Kopenhagen Studio was established in 2005 as Kopenhagen Fur's centre for creativity, innovation and craftsmanship. Here, established as well as up-and-coming designers have the opportunity to work with in-house furriers, who contribute with their professional expertise.

These collaborations challenge the traditional perceptions of what it is possible to make out of fur. Kopenhagen Studio also works together with the world's top design schools in the training of designers. In addition to Kopenhagen Studio in Copenhagen there is also a Kopenhagen Studio at Tsinghua University in Beijing where fur designers are being educated.

International young Designer Contest
Ost-West-Partner GmbH, the organiser of MEXA MOSCOW, Russia's most important fur trade fair, treats it as a matter of its particular concern to promote the future talent of the fur business. For this reason, since 2009, Ost-West-Partner GmbH has been organiser of the competition "Stars of the Kremlin - FUR", jointly with the Public Moscow University for Design and Technology. Aside from Kopenhagen Fur, the Greek-German fur manufacturer, Centropel, will sponsor a workshop in Greece. The Russian fur dealer Mexovoye Buro is supporting the competition's finalists by providing the raw furs for them to produce their designs.
