PTA & ethylene prices remain firm

Paraxylene prices continued to race ahead and hovered in the range of US $1010-1015 / ton. In S E Asian market, PX was assessed in the range of $1005-1015 / ton. PX from Korea crossed the benchmark level of $1005 / ton.
PTA market continued to remain firm, despite of closure in Chinese market. PTA offer prices surged to $915-920 / ton. In the Indian market, offers were quoted around $920-925 / ton. In Taiwanese domestic market, PTA price stood at around $915-920 / ton.
Ethylene prices continued to remain firm due to tight supply side situation. During trading hours, price crossed the $1000 / ton, mark, but was traded in the range of $990-995 / ton. In US market, it remained unchanged at 33.75 cents / pound. In European market, price of ethylene was in the range of $1020-1025 / ton.
MEG price declined marginally and was traded around $805-810 / ton. Sellers were firm with offers above $815-820 / ton. But no official deals concluded at these higher prices. October delivery was offered around $815 / ton.
