The Ministry of Industry and Trade on September 15 launched a website, which provides prior notification regarding the impending anti-dumping lawsuits against Vietnamese exporters.

The web portal in its first stage would be tracking the law suits in textile and garment, footwear, seafood, wood products and electrical cables sectors in the US and EU, key markets for Vietnamese exporters.

While, later on, the system would be developed to provide information and forewarnings for 20 sectors in 10 key markets.

Le Danh Vinh, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, while speaking at launch of the portal said that, the system means to assist entrepreneurs to efficiently tackle any anti-dumping cases in their sector, and to forewarn them regarding any law suits coming up.

Anti-dumping lawsuits have greatly damaged the country's economy, as while the export earning of the companies were negatively impacted due to such lawsuits, they also were required to bear legal charges to litigate these cases.

It is expected that the new system would facilitate local businesses, so that they can get ready and initiate steps to avoid any such anti-dumping proceeding, by timely cutting down on prices.

The country could thus, uphold and grow its export worth with the help of the system, while developing the competitiveness of local firms in world markets, Vinh said.
