This year, favorable conditions of weather and surge in manufacturing of cotton, has tempted the owners to plan out their expansion plans and has thereby, also increased hopes of the Indian textile industry. Apparel producers yarn producers, cotton factory owners traders, and farmers, are elated over the estimated figures of manufacturing of 32. million bales in 2010-11, as against 29.5 million bales last year. Apparently the entire Indian supply chain of cotton textile industry is positive over the prediction of improved cotton harvest this year.

But the Exports are concerned about the unprecedented price-hike of yarns and fabrics. The volumes are increasing but the margins are going down as the value of India's apparel exports dropped 10% to 9.7% billion for the year to end March from a year ago due to lower prices. Just when thee were signs of initial recovery, the industry has been plunged into a gloom because of high
raw material costs.
