Keep track of environmental standards - Germany envoy
Oct '10
Dr. Christian Brecht, German Consul General stated that there is scope for development of co-operation between Germany and Pakistan in the textile sector, particularly in environmental management field.

Dr. Brecht was addressing a launching ceremony of training courses wherein he further said that the environmental management is an imperative issue that could become more important in the future due to the increasing awareness about environment across the world.

He further expressed delight over the help offered by the German institution, 'BFZ' to the SMA Rizvi Textile Institute to launch training courses for textile manufacturing and production, and the environment.

Textile industries would be able to attain certain standards, mandatory in USA, EU and the developed world, through adoption of knowledge, expertise and practices imparted in these courses and will also give a fillip to the country's textile shipments, he added by saying.

The SMA Rizvi Textile Institute is a co-operative establishment of Towel Manufacturers Association of Pakistan and the then Export Promotion Bureau, which is now known as the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP).
