Cotton voiles dumping – Latest threat from Chinese

China, which earlier used to dump synthetic yarn, silk yarn and fabrics and chemicals into the Indian markets, has now started dumping cotton voile fabrics. The Central Government is seized on the same and is analysing the matter and is likely to come up with a solution, very soon.

Textile and apparel firms in India have alleged that, though China itself imports cotton from across the world, including India, it is still dumping cotton voile fabric in India at rates, which are even lower than the cost of manufacturing.

The matter is under consideration by the Ministry of Textiles, which is thoroughly investigating the charges. This action of the Chinese firms has further aggravated the difficulties of the textile industry in India, which is already battling against the latest flare-up in prices of cotton.

The textile sector is now curiously waiting to learn, if they have succeeded in establishing their claims against Chinese firms and if so, what action the Government will be taking, to curb the menace.
