Golden Shirt Award enters the next round
"Join the textile Community", that's the motto of the international trade fair TV TecStyle Visions. This topic is also reflected in the Golden Shirt Award 2012 of the trade journal TVP Textilveredlung & Promotion, the honorary sponsor of the TV trade fair. Textile finishers are called upon to implement the topic "Communicate the community!" using the techniques embroidery, print , flock, laser and rhinestone on textiles. The competition entries and the winners will be presented at the TV 2012 from 2 to 4 February 2012 in Stuttgart.
The challenge of the most recent Golden Shirt Award is to transfer the aspect of communication to textiles – using the techniques embroidery, print, flock, rhinestone and laser, in line with the aim and purpose of trade fairs. After all, trade fairs are places of communication and encounter. Here, people meet each other and create social systems, send and receive information, negotiate, influence each other, interact on an interpersonal level, share their knowledge and their insights, take part and do things together – in other words: they communicate.
The textile decorators are called upon to make a topic of the "textile community" itself and to bring to life encounters between people on textiles. The contestants will be able to prove their design and technical skills in the area of textile finishing. The competition is open to all textile finishers, designers, textile pupils and students and other interested parties in the textile community.
The industry's young talent is also explicitly called upon to create new impulses. An important requirement for participation is the combination of least two of the decorative techniques of embroidery, print (screen print, transfer printing and digital printing), flock, rhinestone and laser branding.
The sponsors and prizes
Well-known companies once again sponsor the Golden Shirt Award with the aim of promoting creativity among textile finishers. Main sponsor is Anvil GmbH from Kaiserslautern, which sponsors the main prize worth 3.000 euros. Anvil is one of the largest textile manufacturers for promotion and print textiles worldwide.
The second prize is worth 2,000 euros and is provided by embroidery machine manufacturer Melco Europe AG. Embroidery thread producer Madeira is providing the third prize worth 1,000 euros.
Maag Flockmaschinen once again sponsors a special prize worth 500 euros for the best flocking combined with one other technique.
A jury of experts consisting of around 15 members of the TV trade fair advisory board will select the winners of the Golden Shirt Award.
Presentation and award ceremony
The competition entries will be presented in a separate exhibition at the TV TecStyle Visions 2012 trade fair in Stuttgart from 2 to 4 February 2012. The Golden Shirt Award will be presented during the trade fair.
