According to customs statistics, China's textile and apparel exports registered US $20.02 billion in September and an increase of 19.5 percent year on year and from January to September this year, China's textile and apparel exports achieved US $149.82 billion, an increase of 23.2 percent year on year.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, nationwide yarn output recorded 2.438 million tons in September, up 298,000 tons; an increase of 13.9 percent year on year and in the first nine months of 2010, total output of yarn completed 19.975 million tons, up 2.77 million tons, or 16.1 percent year on year.
Textiles entered into midseason of sales since September and coupled with rising costs of raw materials, due to which, cotton yarn prices rose. The average price of domestic 32s cotton carded yarn was 27,426 Yuan / ton in the month, up 1,015 Yuan / ton, or 3.8 percent from the previous month.
Average price of polyester staple fiber was 10,387 Yuan on / ton, up 899 Yuan from the previous month or 9.5 percent. The spread between inland standard grade cotton and polyester staple fiber was 9,084 Yuan / ton, an expansion of 441 Yuan/ ton from the previous month.
