Igmatex provides platform for 45 plus participants

Igmatex fair, one of the leading trade exhibitions and event organizers in India hosted the 6th Technology show at Kanpur from 23-25 oct. 2010 at Brijendra Swaroop Park. • Leather wear and Footwear wear market is rapidly growing in kanpur approx 10% to 15% every year.
• Domestic garment market is growing at a higher rate of 20 %
• The technological development in industry reported high growth in Innerwear, Kids wear, Women's Men's wear , Work wear & Uniforms.
• Kanpur has a potential to increase its leather export share in world trade.

The representatives and stalwarts from Leather, apparel retail industry as well as representatives from the various Institutes, Associations, MSME (Ministry of Industry, Govt of India), Textle Committee, NITRA, GCTTI, visited the exhibition and saw live demonstrations of the machines. Some visitors also came from Roorkee, Meerut, Delhi, Agra, Lucknow and Varanasi.

1st day begun with the inauguration of the exhibition by the hands of Hon'ble Padmashree Irshad Mirza (Chairman Mirza International Ltd.), Dr. M. P. Agarwal (Chairman and Managing Director Shree Lakshmi Cotsyn Ltd.) was guest of honor of the exhibition.

Shree Irshad Mirza told to media persons in his inaugural speech about the growth in leather industry and given thanks to organizers for such a nice exhibition exhibiting upgrade technologies.

Dr M. P. Agarwal said that Kanpur is basically a city of innovators and self dependent entrepreneurs and are actually Karma Yogi's .

Shri H. P. Jaiswal Asstt Director MSME Kanpur speaking at the inaugural session highlighted the growth drivers of the industry, “Growth within the industry will be driven by innovation across product, design, brand and also business processes. Further, it is important for the industry to identified and create new mega clusters- Hosiery, garment and Leather having tremendous potential for manufacturing.”

Shri Jaiswal further said about the need for collaborative and aggressive entrepreneurship, increasing acquisitions, vestments. and to bring entrepreneur on the front foot. Kanpur has the best managerial and operational talent to prove best stuff and can be more successful if government extend their support.

Shri Dheeraj Shah (President U.P. Garment Manufacyturers association) addressed people wearing the companies cap who are selling their machineries, to provide best service after sales and they should keep variety of machines so that the demand of the machineries be met.

Addressing the key note at the Igmatex Exhibition Mr. Rajesh Sinha CEO Igmatex Faire Mumbai said, the government, Textile up gradation fund scheme should be leveraged for Industry to grow. Kanpur has a growth prospects and opportunities for the domestic and international market; as well as the key challenges faced by the industry.
