China's national yarn production reached 2.442 million tons in October, representing a decline of 1.52 percent from the previous month, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics.

Production of cotton blended yarn was 241,600 tons, a growth of 2.98 percent from the previous month, while, output of chemical fiber yarn was 353,800 tons, an increase of 0.42 percent from the previous month.

Under the impact of shortage and high prices of cotton, a large number of domestic textile enterprises had switched to either blended or pure chemical fibre yarn as an alternative to keep their factories running.

Cumulative production of cotton blended yarn was 2.20 million tons, an increase of 13.34 percent year on year and cumulative production of chemical fiber yarn was 309,800 tons, up 25.02 percent, year on year.
