Wool Partners Co-operative Limited has extended the closing date of its offer to raise $65 million to launch a 100 per cent grower-owned co-operative until 31 December 2010.
Wool Partners chairman Jeff Grant says events of the last 24 hours affecting other players in the strong wool industry need consideration.
“We know from the ongoing feedback received that there is very strong support for a growers co-operative and the inflow of subscriptions from larger growers in the last few days supports that view.
“A further survey of 300 growers undertaken last weekend by UMR Research shows that support for the co-operative is building, with more than half the non-WPI suppliers now behind the concept.”
Mr Grant confirmed the previous advice to growers that subscription payments will be held and not cashed until the offer is declared unconditional.
A further announcement on the status of the offer will be made early in the New Year.
