Handicraft week concludes with overwhelming response

The 2nd Handicraft Promotion Week 2010 “Buyers and Sellers Meet” that recently concluded with a fabulous response from buyers' side, with the number of buyers which was expected to keep around 50 per day, going beyond 100.

The meet helped a number of buyers and the manufacturers to get in touch with each other and also lead to generation of business, following which few of the buyers even placed spot orders. However, the number of spot orders placed during the meet is not much important, as success of the meet can be assessed only in the future as the contacts developed during the meet start materializing.

The producers, this year, presented such designs and products which matched the consumers' demands well.

The Federation of Handicraft Association of Nepal (FHAN), which organized the event for the first time during December last year, persisted with the trend this year too, and revealed its intention to pursue the same in future also. Thus, the manufacturers can especially prepare goods for showcasing the same at the expo every year.

No considerable funds were required for organizing the event. The meet attempted to bring the buyers and sellers together on one common platform, so as to facilitate good business prospects in times to come.

The event intended to extend a chance to the participants to have a look at the products of their rivals and at the same time provide a common platform where the manufacturers and exporters of handicraft products can get in touch with each other.
