Textile enterprises adopted various measures to stabilize production, which included increased usage of chemical fibers, due to which production of chemical fiber yarn and blended yarn improved significantly.
China's yarn production totaled to 24.86 million tons from January to November, a rise of 14.8 percent year on year, of which November yarn output reached 2.47 million tons, up 9.8 percent year on year, and also up by 2.9 percent from the previous month.
Cotton yarn production in November increased by 6.2 percent year on year, the growth rate fell 5.6 percent and 1 percent from September and October, respectively.
Over the same period, production of chemical fiber yarn and cotton blended yarn increased rapidly; the increase was as high as 22 percent month-on-month in November.
November witnessed the biggest rise and fall in cotton price. The cotton price index rose from 27,066 Yuan / ton on November 1 to 31,300 Yuan / ton on November 11 and then fell to 26,200 Yuan / ton on November 30.
