PTA MEG, semi-dull polyester chip and super bright polyester chip, CDP chip and PET bottle chip prices continued to rise on December 27. Acrylic staple fiber 1.5D × 38mm and acrylic top 3D × 102mm prices were under adjustment, CPL price was stable, while nylon 6 chip prices showed a slight elevation.
With stimulation from various factors, including continued rise of crude oil futures and spot PTA, plus increased sales of polyester filament in recent times, polyester POY rose by 100 Yuan/ ton on the day. A big factory in Shengze area raised its DTY150D/288F by 100 Yuan / ton.
POY in Taicang market also grew 100 Yuan / ton. In Tongxiang area, POY also gained by 100 Yuan / ton. Prices of polyester filament sold to Shenze and Jiaxing markets from Xiaoshan and Shaoxing areas also increased.
Although downstream market was weak, prices of raw materials continued to rise in upstream market, polyester filament market is expected to climb higher under psychological drive and heavy volume of production and sales.
Polyester staple fiber price increased on the day and market price averaged at 12,200 Yuan / ton. Viscose staple fiber prices too moved up and average market price rose back to 25,000 Yuan / ton.
All cotton yarn market was relatively stable on the day, sales of cotton yarn 32s was slightly larger. There were small changes in trade volumes and prices of viscose yarn and polyester/ cotton yarn. Polyester yarn price was stable and demand of polyester yarn 45s was better.
Rayon yarn market looked weak, price remained stable, and sales of rayon yarn 30s and 40s were better, as they are mainly used in production of diamond cotton fabrics. Yarn market is expected to show a moderate adjustment in the short term.
