In an effort to further improve customer service and enhance marketing skills in the Chinese market, Sumitomo Seika Chemicals Co Ltd (SSC) has decided to establish a wholly owned sales subsidiary in China.

All of the products manufactured by SSC, such as super absorbent polymers and electronic gases, will be handled by this new subsidiary.

Future Outlook

The establishment of this new subsidiary will have only a minor impact on our consolidated financial results for the fiscal year ending in March, 2011.

Sumitomo Seika is a chemical company offering products with unique functions. Our flagship products are super absorbent polymers for disposable diapers, polymer products for cosmetics, electronics gases for liquid crystal and LED, fine chemicals for pharmaceutical intermediates, oxygen gas generators for steel manufacturers, and many other products.
