The 70th Plenary Meeting of the International Cotton Advisory Committee since 1939 will be held in Argentina during September 4-10, 2011. The meeting will begin in Buenos Aires from September 4-9, and then there will be a special workshop in the northern city of Resistencia on September 10 to focus on opportunities for investment in the cotton value chain.

The venue for the meeting in Buenos Aires will be the historic and beautiful Panamericano Hotel. All spaces for the meeting and arrangements for the audio-visual equipment, trade stalls, the Internet café, registration, meeting rooms and the Secretariat office have been considered. The Panamericano Hotel is an excellent facility, and the organization of the meeting will be fully in line with international standards. The hotel is located in the cultural heart of Buenos Aires and adjacent to major shopping and sightseeing areas.

The venue in Resistencia will be an excellent hotel and casino complex. Resistencia is a fascinating northern city in the heart of the Argentine cotton belt with a history dating to the Argentine colonial period.

The ICAC Standing Committee will determine the theme and agenda for the 70th Plenary Meeting in March 2011, and official invitations will be issued in April. As preparations for the meeting move forward, all information will be available at ICAC.org.
