A highly developed textile park with an effective location that provides a comprehensive range of goods and services for the global home textile market is all geared up to start its operations very soon in Karur.

The Karur Textile Park Limited (KTPL) has been established under the Scheme for Integrated Textile Parks (SITP). The Rs 1.3 billion worth project is a highly sophisticated one and is one of the first of its kind throughout the country.

The textile park has technical as well as auxiliary facilities in a single complex occupying 110 acres in Thalapatti as well as Puthambur villages. It is located around 12 km off the Karur-Madurai highway.

The textile park will be officially inaugurated in March. Further, it is anticipated that all the units in the park would start their complete production operations from the month of June.

Despite the fact that 40 textile parks have been planned to be established under the SITP together with the eight parks in Tamil Nadu, the Karur textile park is exceptional both in terms of conception as well as implementation as it has a remarkable complex having a utility-driven plan as well as a visual appeal.

The KTPL has been established with a motive to make it a unique export zone for home textiles. The textile park is likely to generate direct employment for over 4,000 workers and indirect employment for 10,000 people.
