Fashion trends Spring – Summer 2011

An environment of tranquility and optimism can be sensed, where the rebirth of references to past times is highlighted with retro and vintage styles playing a main role. These are reflected in romantic fabrics elaborated as mini designs and micro fantasies, sheer effects and embroidered bases, as well as small multicolor flower designs that are complemented with smooth, simple, neat and compact fabrics.

Dusty Finishes will be present mainly in the flat weave, where denim and cotton participate, and as novelty, in bases of linen and wool. Their common characteristic is that they are dyed with pigment or sulfurous colorants that are discolored when washed, which gives them that appearance of used and worn.

Vegetable Appearances are present in the flat weave in light and smooth bases, which are characterized by flamed threads and the color contrast both in the warp and in the weft, creating flecked effects. Linen is the main fiber, present in pure compositions or in mixes with cotton and viscose. The creased and non-ironed appearances prevail.

Flecked, Rustic, Creased and Crackled Effects are key for woven and knit bases, where fantasy threads marked with flamés, slubs and spaced dyed are highlighted. Also, synthetic fibers such as nylon, acetate and the malleable metallic ones, are the most used, since they have the quality of generating new options of volume in the clothing. Brightness plays an important role, where iridescent and shot effects are highlighted.

Micro Fantasies and Mini Designs are really the novelty. In the bases, buttonholes, dobbies effects and mini jacquards are highlighted; in knitted fabric, loose knits, mesh and the open rectilinear fabrics. The natural and synthetic fibers participate with the same importance, where the matte and bright appearancesare present.
