Century Synthetic Fiber Corporation, a firm based in the HCM City, intending to boost its fibre output to better meet the demands of the domestic and export markets, recently started a new fibre plant in Trang Bang Industrial Park in the southern province of Tay Ninh.

The Chairman and CEO of the firm, Dang Trieu Hoa said that, the new US $19.5 million worth facility has an annual capacity to manufacture 11,000 tons of Draw Textured Yarn (DTY) by using polyester chips. Addition of this new facility has thus boosted the company's overall annual production capacity to 25,000 tons, he added.

The firm further said that, as the new plant is equipped with latest machines fetched from Oerlikon Barmag Group based in Germany, the fibre items produced in this plant would be such to suit the needs of the domestic as well as global customers.

The demand for DTY both in the domestic as well as international market is growing rapidly and hence the company proposes to invest $12.2 million in the second stage of the plant which would further add a capacity to produce another 10,000 units per year, Hoa said. The second stage of the plant is likely to start its operation next year, he added.

The Corporation contributes 15 percent of the country's overall DTY production, which totalled to 166,000 tons, last year.

The company generated revenue worth around VND500 billion, last year and intends to increase the same to almost double with the new facility going functional.
