Delta Galil closes Egyptian textile unit for 2 weeks

Delta Galil Industries Ltd. has closed down its textile unit in Egypt for a period of two weeks as it is facing serious challenges in continuing its normal operations.
The unit specializes in the manufacturing of high-end products for the international market and is accountable for 11 percent of the company's overall sales including 9 percent of the sales by the unit itself and the remaining 2 percent by other local suppliers.
The company revealed that it was not possible for it to make an estimation of the degree of interruption in the production of the unit but the two-week closure is not likely to have a serious impact upon its overall business.
The company further added that if required it will look for other production sites to overcome the challenges that the unit is currently facing.
