Founded in 1933, the American Textile Machinery Association is the only U.S. trade association devoted solely to the advancement of manufacturers of textile machinery, parts and accessories in the textile industry. It is headquartered in metro-Washington, D.C. Since 1933 it has had only four chief staff executives, the third one beginning in 1977, Harry W. Buzzerd, Jr., CAE, who remains in service as Management Counsel. Buzzerd said: “This massive international event has been ATMA's vision since the 1980's.”
Techtextil North America is the only trade show in the Americas dedicated to technical textiles and nonwovens. The show assembles all vertical aspects of the technical textile industry. From research and development, through raw materials and production processes and finally ending in conversion, further treatment and recycling.
