Bilal Mulla, Chief Executive of the Mulla International in Karachi, has been appointed as the Chairman of FPCCI Standing Committee on Textiles and Value Added Products for 2011-12, by Senator Haji Ghulam Ali, the President of FPCCI.

A recent FPCCI release states that, Mulla's appointment is indicative of the faith that the FPCCI President has posed in him.

Prior to the present appointment, Mulla presided over the Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufactures and Exporters Association as a Chairman for three terms. He also served as a Chairman of the Pakistan Readymade Garments Technical Training Institute Karachi and Lahore, and was even a member of the Export Development Fund Board and Textile Garments Skill Development Board.

Moreover, in addition to the present appointment, Mulla presently even serves as Vice-President of the BFG Steering Committee – a Joint Venture of Government of Germany and for five other textile organizations in Pakistan, which are actively working for the development of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the country.

Further, he is even associated with several trade and social welfare initiatives, like for instance he serves as a Chairman of KITCC, which is an NGO functioning for Thalassaemia carrier.
