Chinese domestic PTA market steady

Because of cautious approach from traders, domestic PTA market in North China and East China remained mostly unchanged on March 15. Spot market of PTA imports too witnessed very little movements.
In North China, mainstream market prices were steady at 11,500 Yuan / ton. In the downstream sector, counter offers were steady at 11,400 Yuan / ton. Though negotiated prices were in the range of 11400 to 11450 Yuan / ton, there were very few deals.
In East China PTA market, mainstream prices were steady at 11450-11500 Yuan / ton while counter offers from downstream sector were at 11,440 Yuan / ton. Actual negotiated prices were at 11450 Yuan / ton but very few negotiations took place. Some firms offered 11,450 Yuan / ton, and a few deals materialized.
On March 15, Spot market of PTA imports too remained flat with very little movements in prices. Cautious approach by traders kept the prices stable. In Korean goods, PTA prices were US $1500-1505 / ton with downstream counter offers at US $1485-1490 / ton, negotiated prices were US $1490 to US $ 1495 / ton.
Taiwan cargo was traded at US $1510-1515/ ton, downstream inquires were at US $1495-1500/ ton. Though negotiated prices eased at US $1500-1505/ ton, actual negotiations were scarce because of wait and watch policy by traders.
