Textile Exchange to organize Sustainable Textile Seminar

Textile Exchange formerly Organic Exchange, in conjunction with the Aegean Clothing Manufacturers' Association, EGSD, is organizing the first sustainable textile event in Izmir Turkey from April 14 - 16 in Swissotel Grand Efes Hotel.

This event will include a one day Seminar on April 14 organized by Textile Exchange. The Seminar aims to educate participants about the market's requirements in terms of environmental management, more sustainable fibers and processes, and new developments in the textile industry. The seminar will run alongside a 3 day marketplace that will showcase Turkish companies and their organic textiles products, including menswear, womenswear, childrens wear, home textiles and fabrics.

Sandra Castañeda Elena, European Director of Textile Exchange says “This is an unique opportunity to meet to the main movers in Turkey” - and she added, “for those international brands who are looking to source in Turkey, those individuals will have the opportunity to meet with potential suppliers during the three days marketplace.

On April the 16 will be organized a guided visit to a Turkish Factory of organic apparel and those individuals who want to experience the organic cotton farming will be able to visit an organic cotton farm on the same day”

This seminar will include speakers such as Ebru Gencoglu from adidas-group, Hulya Sevindik Ozyigit from H&M, Aydin Gokhan from Sanko Tekstil, Aydin Unsal from Egedeniz Tekstil, Mr. Prof. Dr. Isik TARAKÇIOGLU, and Charline Ducas, Sustainable Materials Specialist for Textile Exchange. As well as other important speakers from chemical manufactures such as Huntsman and Clariant.

The seminar will also feature case studies from production to communications and responsible processing, dyeing and finishing, The three day Marketplace event will be supported by the Ministry for Foreign Trade. The support of the Ministry includes the accommodation of foreign visitors who are involved in the textile and ready-made garment sector and would like to attend this event. For international brands located in Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Croatia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Jordan, Kosovo, Lebanon, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Sweden, Syria, UAE, United Kingdom or USA.
