Installation of Solar-Electric System at Sunham Home Fashions

Solar Nation has announced the installation and commissioning of an 876kW solar-electric system on the Sunham Home Fashions Distribution Center in New Providence, New Jersey. Sunham Home Fashions installed the solar-electric system to reduce and stabilize energy costs and to follow through on its long-standing commitment to environmental stewardship.

The 130,000 square foot solar-electric system was designed, engineered, and installed by Solar Nation. The rooftop array is comprised of 3,575 SolarWorld 245 watt solar panels, manufactured in the U.S. In addition to the panels, the system incorporates two SMA America inverters and a Draker Laboratories web-based monitoring system. Clean, renewable energy generated by the system would be enough to power up to 83 homes and will meet 100% of Sunham's electricity needs, providing immediate savings for the company.

The installation of the solar-electric system is part of Sunham Home Fashions continuing dedication to environmental impact reduction. It is estimated that the Sunham solar-electric system will cut greenhouse gas emissions by 618 metric tons annually—the equivalent CO2 offset of 32,000 trees or reducing automobile usage by 1,015,000 miles.
